LIMO Series Product Introduction

LIMO is one of AgileX Robotics most well-known multi-modal ROS education robots. Powered by Jetson Nano, its 4 wheel hub motors drive provide it with excellent stability and mobility, allowing it to freely switch between four modes in various terrain environments: Ackerman, four-wheel differential, mecanum wheel and tracked. In addition, LIMO is also the company's flagship product for scientific research and education.

In order to adapt to the evolving robotic technologies, AgileX has comprehensively upgraded the LIMO series. Upgrades in computing power, sensors and battery life have brought LIMO PRO and LIMO COBOT to the next level on top of the original products.

In terms of hardware, the two new products adopt Nvidia's latest Orin Nano, whose performance is 30 times higher than Jetson Nano. It has up to 40 TOPS of processing power, capable of executing AI inference workflows under energy efficiency and small form factor conditions. Jetson Orin Nano can also perform localization, real-time 3D reconstruction, depth estimation and other tasks using ROS 2 packages. Meanwhile, the battery life is increased to 2.5 hours and the lidar is upgraded to EAI T-mini Pro.

In terms of software, LIMO PRO and LIMO COBOT run Ubuntu 20.04, compatible with both ROS1 Noetic and ROS2 Foxy.

Different from LIMO PRO, LIMO COBOT is a desktop mobile robotic arm platform with dimensions of 322 x 220 x 550 mm. It provides a height of 550mm to ensure sufficient space for arm movements.

The upgraded LIMO PRO and LIMO COBOT now possess higher autonomy with improvements in communication, navigation, vision and other capabilities, making them easier to program and suitable for teaching, competitions, training and research applications.
